Hello SMB Deal Hunters!
Iām very excited to share this weekās interview with JD Beck.
He didnāt hold back when it came to the challenges of business ownership.
Here are just a few snippets from his interviewā¦
š„ His seller handed JD the keys and abandoned him 30 minutes after he walked into his new business.
š„ He had nearly 100% employee turnover in year one of his acquisition
š„ And he ended up losing his master plumber (who held the companyās needed license) after a breach of contract and found a replacement on Craiglist.
š„ And when asked what it was like when he was pulling the trigger on his first acquisition he saidā¦
"Both times I've signed an SBA loan I wanted to throw up at least for a day,"
And even after all of thatā¦
š He grew his plumbing / HVAC business from $1.1M to $4.6M in revenue through 3 acquisitions
š When we asked what he thought looking back, he said buying a business is one of the best things heās ever done (after marrying his wife and having daughters)
